How To Get Conned
As I am still introducing myself here, I am posting a story from my real life. This happened about a month ago, right around spring finals.
I was minding my own business in a sandwich shop, when I met an intriguing SF character named Midnight Magic. There are many other reports on the internet about this guy. He’s a well known San Francisco con man. He told me he had been on his “mission” for eight years. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Enjoy the comic.
So that happened.
He was very convincing! I guess you’d have to be if that was how you made a living for eight years. It was fun to watch a real con man at work. Posting this online both revenge and tribute.
What do you think? Would you have seen right through him, or given him the money? Has anyone else fallen for it? At least we’re not alone, right?
And Midnight Magic, if you’re googling yourself, you still owe me $25. I’ll be at King Sub.
Love this, Sam. So good.

Sam – this is great. I love your illustrations. I think I met Midnight Magic recently on a work trip…well maybe not. It was a guy that looked like that and tried to sell me a similar story (a CEO billionaire, needs to give away money, blah, blah, blah…) but I think it was in Chicago…Sadly, I was too busy to believe.

Haha Yeah these characters are out there. At least you saved your money. If you want to live dangerously, theres always lotto tickets!
