An Art Studio in a Tent!
When we have big life changes, it gives us a chance to reevaluate priorities. Sometimes it’s best to simplify.
Recently I went through a breakup and had to move away from the Bay Area. These sorts of changes aren’t fun, but it gives you a chance to focus on what’s important.
I want to do my art and sell it. I want fewer distractions. I want mobility and flexibility. I want fresh air.

Pictured: the pride of home ownership, and the exhaustion of 10 hours setup.
For a while now I have wanted to set up a tent studio. I’m really excited about the results. With this setup, I can go to any piece of land and set up shop. Backyards, farms, forests, mountains.
I have my drawing table and all the supplies to do my work. I have books and nic nacs. It’s basically got all the comforts of home.

Identical desk setup, with a way better view!
Right now I just got it set up, but I am very happy with my new studio. Dificulties may arise with time, but I’m looking forward to making it work. Besides, it’s California in the summer, what’s easier than that?
One of the first upgrades I want is a solar panel. Then I can work towards being off the grid. I would love for my comics to be made from solar power, instead of fossil fuels.
Anyway, I have work to do. Its time for focus and productivity. Stay tuned everybody because there’s good stuff on the way.
Happy camping,
SCL
Howdy, this is a great set up and I hope it is still working for you. I lived in a tent for three months and found it to be a very creative, productive and peaceful place. Am about to set it up a s a studio in our back yard.
Peace, love n moonbeams to you.

Sounds great I hope your studio worked out. I have been without my tent for a few months now, I miss it! Gotta set up tent 2.0! Thanks for reading,
